MICHAEL W. LOVETT
President

Mike is the President and CEO of HRD Strategies, Inc. His experience includes human resources, organizational development, electrical engineering, construction, plant maintenance, and manufacturing. Mike's primary focus for the past fifteen years has been human resources, organizational development, training, and team-building and employee selection systems. Mike spent several years as a manager in the engineering/construction/maintenance division with Fluor Daniel and as Engineering & Maintenance Team Leader at Logan Aluminum, Inc. in Russellville, Kentucky, one of the premier examples of high involvement and participative management in the U.S. today.

Prior to starting HRD Strategies, Mike worked as a Corporate Manager of Training and Organizational Development where he designed and implemented team-based management systems with international joint ventures and re-designed traditional manufacturing facilities into team-based cultures. Mike established human resource management functions, maintenance/engineering management systems, preventive and predictive maintenance systems and functional control engineering in organizations with specific needs in this area.

As a performance based management consultant, Mike continually focuses on the growth and development of individuals and organizations through extensive training and coaching. The scope of on-line experience with organizations such as ARCO, Duracell, and Halstead Industries, is synergistic with his consultative practice in multi-dimensional manufacturing and service organizations. Mike's practical experience and educational background in Electrical Engineering Technology and psychology establishes credibility and value with clients.

Additionally, Mike designs and implements job analysis processes, 360 degree profiles, organizational surveys, assessment center selection and development processes, pay-for-knowledge systems, strategic compensation systems, performance appraisal systems, TQM systems and self-directed team systems. Mike also conducts various types of leadership, technical, interpersonal, quality management, human resources, and management development training for all levels of employees.

Mike has published a Quarterly Journal titled "Employee Empower" and collaborated on "Working Scared" a business book written for managers working in trying times. He has also presented at numerous conferences including: The Ecology of Work, NC SHRM Conference, PAI Twenty First Century Work Environment, Danville VA Leadership Southside, Burke County Chamber of Commerce, Alamance Human Resource Association, MHC Chamber of Commerce, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists (SIOP).

William W. Baker
Senior Organizational Consultant

Bill Baker currently supports the Management Development and Technical Services of HRD Strategies.. In addition to performing management assessments, Bill has prepared written assessment summaries, facilitated Supervisor behavior workshops, as well as, developed Interview questionnaires, using behavioral objectives, tailored for specific management skills. Previously, he was the Vice President of Information Services for Triad International Maintenance Corporation (TIMCO) where his primary responsibilities included directing the strategic and tactical mission of the enterprise communication and information services function. Bill acted as advisor to the management group regarding corporate information planning, airline customer system integration, and data security.

Graduating from Lenoir-Rhyne College with a degree in Mathematics, Bill has more than twenty years of experience in Large Asset Maintenance service and manufacturing industry. Establishing many forms of information systems for start-up companies, his career experience includes, project cost, and budget development, addressing customer service requirements, auditing work flow, identifying efficient transaction recording processes for customer order entry, labor and material tracking, consistent communications, designed training and managed multiple projects including integration of third party Human Resource, Payroll, Engineering and regulatory systems applications.

Using his real world experience as a line supervisor, administrative manager, director and Sr. Information executive, Bill is experienced in developing teams, mentoring people to be successful setting priorities, communicating alternatives, and acting to turn constraints into assets.

Curtis S. Tweedy
Organizational Consultant

Curtis is an Organizational Consultant for HRD Strategies, Inc. for the U.S. Central Region. He has a background strongly based in electronic engineering, entrepreneurship, industrial construction, plant maintenance, human resources and technical training. Prior to joining HRD Strategies, he was employed by Logan Aluminum, Inc. in Engineering/Maintenance management and Human Resource Development. His primary responsibilities at Logan included developing and coaching teams in a highly developed participative management structure. During his tenure at Logan, he participated in the development training curricula, including a maintenance technician Pay for Knowledge system.

Curtis served four years in the United States Air Force as an aircraft electrician. He then completed a technical degree in electronic technology. His career progression includes advancement from an electronic technician to an electronic engineer; project manager for the development of a medium range, solid state radar for the U.S. Navy; and development of a medium range commercial radar system; and progression from the engineering field to corporate management. Additional career developments included a partnership in an electronic component distribution company and industrial construction where he held positions as General Foreman, Instrumentation Engineer, and Electrical and Instrumentation Superintendent.

Curtis has expertise in the development of technical training programs, team leader development, needs and task analysis, maintenance management systems, participative management systems, technical interviewing, and assessment centers. As a consultant he has developed participative management systems for several organizations including the oil industry in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.

Curtis has a technical degree in electronic technology, a B.S. degree in Business Management and over 25 years managerial experience.
